MEMBER SPOTLIGHT - CHLOE

We all come to the mat for different reasons. Whether you have a specific goal in mind or are simply looking for a little more space in your week for you, when we step onto the mat we all have one thing in common; We all love Pilates 🥰

So, to celebrate all the different reasons our gorgeous, diverse and wonderful community keeps coming back to the mat, I thought it might be nice to start a Members Spotlight series on our blog! A chance for people to share a little of their story, to inspire others on their own Pilates journeys and for you, dear reader, to get to know other fellow Pilates-lovers!

A few weeks back, I had the pleasure of reaching out to one of our lovely members, Chloe. She's a true wellness girly and a total ray of sunshine! During our chat, she shared what Pilates has meant to her since starting back in 2025 and gave some fab words of encouragement that made me immediately want to get out and seize the day... I hope it does the same for you!

Enjoy! 🧘🏼‍♀️

Hey Chloe, tell us a little about yourself!

Hello! I’m Chloe, I'm 28 and currently have a very fast paced life, with a job that requires me to work a 6 day in-a-row shift pattern with a 70 mile a day commute! (Ugh) As such, I like to do what I can in my free time to have fun and remind myself that I’m still ‘just a girl’ ! For me this looks like seeing friends, training at the gym, reading, enjoying playing with fashion and beauty, and of course - going to Pilates!!

How did you first discover Pilates, and what keeps you coming back?

After seeing Pilates everywhere online, a friend recommended we give it a go, and move with mollie was the one we chose to try out after having a look at various nearby classes! Up until my late teens I occupied all my free time with ballet, tap, jazz and more, and after stopping this definitely left a little hole in soul. I have been on a complete gym/fitness journey since 2023, but starting Pilates is what has given me that spark back and made me realise how much I had missed moving with purpose and working not only on my strength but my flexibility in a way that was different than just going to the gym!

What’s your favorite Pilates move or class style, and why?

My favourite type of Pilates class is anything classical or that which incorporates any glute or ab focus! I love classical practice, largely because it fascinates me how such ‘simple’ looking movements require such physical and mental strength to perfect and look flawless (mollie!!) And isn’t it the best feeling when it finally starts to click and you feel the improvement and mind/muscle connection! I never knew when I first joined that I would end up being able to join an advanced class and not fall flat on my face, or that I could make myself roll like a ball… who’d have known how much joy that would bring!

How has Pilates impacted your life - physically, mentally, or emotionally?

Whilst Pilates started as just a fun way to exercise, after an unexpected loss in 2025, Pilates truly became an anchor in my life. Getting myself out of the house and showing up on the mat, although difficult, helped me reconnect with not just my body but my mind; with that one hour being the time I needed to not only move my body but breathe and really feel. The physical benefit of feeling stronger in my body has been unmatched, but for me the words of affirmation and mindfulness at the end of each session help to remind me of the importance of giving myself time; to grow, to grieve, and simply just process whatever’s happened in the day and remind myself that I deserve to put myself and more importantly my body first no matter what’s going on around me! Pilates and what it stands for has changed my outlook on so many things and been a constant in my life when everything felt overturned!

What’s something you’re loving lately?

Lately I am loving reading! I always have loved a good book, however I decided to set myself a challenge to read 24 books in 2026 and so far I am really loving it! I thought it would be difficult at first BUT (and this was a game changer) I have been incorporating reading with exercise, by using my kindle on the walkpad in the evenings instead of bed rotting 24/7 like I used to - and although I still love the occasional bed rot (too much) combining these two things have made me feel much better in myself, ticking off my daily steps and reading in one activity!!

Do you have a tip, mantra, or piece of advice for our fellow Pilates people?

Although I do not have a particular piece of advice to share, I think everyone should remember that we can truly do anything we want if we remove our mental barriers! Life is busy and crazy and likely always will be, so STOP putting off the things you want to achieve physically for yourself and make the time for it and more importantly yourself! I promise you, once you establish a routine for yourself and any new practices you will be surprised by how it just seems to work out - you deserve to be happy mentally and physically and you are the only one who can get the ball rolling so don’t put it off any longer :) <3

Anything else you'd like to share?

Everyone give Mollie a round of applause for all of the love and attention she so clearly pours into each class! Times are tough and life is busy but she always shows up, always makes us laugh and always gives us good quality classes that make us feel amazing!! <3
